Hourly Billing & Rates

DOLAN CONNLY structures its fee schedules and billing arrangements to meet the individual needs of each client. Our billing statements provide clear information about who performed the work, when the work was performed, the type of work performed and the time spent on each task.

Hourly Billing:

Legal services are billed based on the actual time taken to complete specific tasks. Minimum time entries of six minutes (or 0.1 hours) are utilized for billing. Statements for services rendered are typically provided in intervals of every one to three months, depending upon the desire of the client. Expenses are pre-approved and itemized on the statement.

Hourly rates include expenses such as word processing as well as long distance telephone and facsimile charges transmissions. Photocopying and excess postage charges are itemized as expenses on each billing statement. Rates may be adjusted from time to time by agreement of the Firm and the client.

Flat Rate Billing (Real Estate):

DOLAN CONNLY acknowledges, adopts and abides by the Cannons of Ethics in its representation of clients and in its billing practices as outlined by Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3.07. Supreme Judicial Court Rule 1.5 is also complied with in establishing fee schedules for individual clients.

Contingent Fee Cases

In personal injury cases, civil rights cases and in most employment discrimination cases, we often accept cases on a contingent fee basis. Under these arrangements, we are paid on an agreed percentage of the amount recovered for the client. In these cases, there is no fee unless recovery is made.
